Lead Mechanical Engineer - FLNG
An international client is currently recruiting for a Floating LNG project base in South Korea.
Leads efforts for capturing the full value of existing and new long and medium term LNG sales contracts through optimization of contractual rights and obligations including but not limited to volume flexibilities and price reopeners.
Identifies medium and long term sales opportunities. Develops and implements strategies for existing, new and/or incremental sales. Participates as member of RasGas Negotiating Team for medium and long term sales. Manages customer interface and assists the short term sales team to secure potential spot sales to existing long term customers.
Maintains flawless commercial processes and controls for long term sales. Ensures that risks related to SPA commercial marketing activities are identified and manages such risks to minimize potential impact to RasGas.
Coordinates internal interfaces within Marketing, C&S, Finance, RasGas Marketing Committee and Management. Interfaces with customers and shareholders.
Leads team efforts to identify short term LNG sales and infrastructure opportunities to ensure the highest netback and maximum value to RasGas for LNG cargoes sold. Recognized as a focal point for interpretation of current market trends. Directly contributes to annual revenue of ~$3Bn from the sale of ~11 Mmta of liquid market volumes.
Analyzes market trends and makes recommendations to the Head of Optimizations for the development of the annual short term strategy which is reviewed and endorsed by the RasGas Marketing Committee. Contributes to the flawless implementation of approved annual short term sales strategy and delivers key objective as outlined by the marketing strategy and annual short term sales strategy.
Maintains flawless commercial processes and controls within the Short Term Sales group to ensure all risks are identify & addressed.
Maintains close communication with Manager Short Term Sales, Head of Optimization and other Senior Marketing Managers and Staff. Provides mentorship & guidance to department staff to develop understanding of Diversion activities which contributes to meet RasGas and individual goals.
Responsible for providing LNG technical, operational and commercial guidance to the Marketing Managers and negotiating teams to ensure that new short and long term sales agreements contemplate and address all relevant shipping issues. Advises on all shipping issues including transportation economics, vessel availability and potential synergies between RasGas joint ventures and customers. Accountable for securing and/or outchartering LNG vessels, including direct negotiations with ship-owners or charterers, and coordination of LNG vessel time charters. Critical interface with short term customers, ship-owners and RasGas Shareholders. Recruit, mentor and supervise Senior Staff, non-Senior Staff and Qatari Graduate Trainees.
Support timely LNG Shipping and commercial expertise to the Head of Shipping and negotiation teams during market development, negotiations and optimization efforts.
Review and support negotiations of Short Term LNG vessel time charters. Advise on shipping issues including transportation economics, vessel availability and potential synergies between JV’s and customers as directed.
Participate as needed in any JV LNG ship acquision process for both new and use vessels.
The client, an international bank with an expanding commodities unit, is seeking senior LNG originators with 10+ years industry experience. Strong candidates will have broad global contacts among producers, national oil and gas companies, direct involvement in negotiations, a substantial PSA deal list, detailed operational and shipping knowledge and sensitivity to cultural and diplomatic factors. Preferred background: Tenure at pedigreed firms including other Wall Street banks, oil and gas companies, large trading firms. Positions are based in Singapore, London.
